LEGAL & REGULATORY COMPLIANCE

What is our next step in the assurance process?

To consider the extent to which you realise the benefits you create by legal and regulatory compliance.

?

What do we mean by Legal and Regulatory Compliance?

Legal and regulatory standards represent the 'shared' Values with which we all must abide.

Why is are important:

It is important to make sure that we comply with these as 'minimum' standards, as this provides a secure foundation for further benefit creation. Compliance efforts should also be focused on the Values on which our operations are likely to have the most significant impact.

So what are the questions that we have to think about?

The Value generated by legal and regulatory compliance is often not realised by organisations, that is, in terms of the benefits that it creates for the organisation, its employees, customers, suppliers, any people the organisation represents and wider society. By this we mean, does your organisation promote its compliance and the benefits this brings, so that this is clearly understood by its Stakeholders?
