What is the next step in ValueBox?
Following on from Question 2, we are now identifying our Priorities.
What do we mean by Priorities?
Priorities = the operational goals that you want to achieve.
?
Why is it important to consider our Priorities?
To ensure that your Values are working to create the greatest benefit, it is important that these reflect your current operational Priorities, as in this way the maximum impact will be made by your actions. Not least in ensuring that your Priorities are effectively communicated to your Stakeholders, including your employees, customers and suppliers, as well as society at large.
Taking your Priorities into account also makes your Values current, as your Priorities may change over time. However it is crucial to remember that an organisation can have many Values, so you can adopt a Value to relfect your Priorities (to reflect a project or programme for example) without it changing the Core Values for which you stand: it merely stands alongside your Core Values to provide emphasis to your current mission.
So what are the questions that we have to think about?
We need to identify our Priorities so that we can develop our Values in this context.
What will ValueBox do with this information?
Once identified, ValueBox will carry your Priorities nto the next stage of the assessment, to support the identification and / or assurance of your Values.
